Privacy Policy for Speed Test

Effective Date: August 26, 2026
Last Updated: August 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Speed Test ("the App") handles information when you use the application.

The App is provided by Faisal Farooq / FSL-Lab. We are committed to protecting user privacy and collecting only the information necessary to provide, maintain, improve, and support the App.

1. Information We Process

Internet Speed Test Information

When you perform an internet speed test, the App may process technical information including:

This information is used to perform the speed test, display results, monitor reliability, identify technical problems, and improve the App.

We do not intentionally collect your name, phone number, email address, contacts, messages, photos, or precise GPS location through the speed test feature.

2. Public IP and Network Information

The App may contact an IP information service to determine general network information such as:

Communication with an internet-based service necessarily involves the device's public IP address. The external service may process the public IP address in order to provide network and location-related information.

The App does not intentionally store your public IP address in its local speed test history or send your public IP address as a custom Firebase Analytics event.

3. Data Usage Feature

The App may provide a Data Usage feature that uses Android Usage Access and Android network statistics functionality.

If you choose to enable this feature, the App may access Android system statistics to calculate information such as:

Usage Access must be manually enabled by the user through Android system settings. This feature is optional.

Data obtained through the Data Usage feature is processed locally on your device for the purpose of displaying usage information. The App does not upload your Wi-Fi or mobile data usage totals to our servers or Firebase Analytics.

The App does not use Usage Access for advertising, profiling, monitoring personal activity across other apps, or tracking users across applications.

4. Local Speed Test History

Speed test results may be stored locally on your device so that you can view previous test results in the History section.

Local history may include:

This history remains on the device and is not uploaded by the App as an online history database.

Local application data can be removed by clearing the App's data through Android settings or by uninstalling the App.

5. Firebase Analytics

The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App performs and how its features are used.

The App may send analytics events and parameters including:

Firebase and associated Google services may also automatically process certain device and technical information according to Google's own privacy policies.

Analytics information may be used for:

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other directly identifying personal information through our custom Firebase Analytics events.

6. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

Google Mobile Ads and its advertising partners may process information such as:

Advertising-related information is handled according to Google's applicable privacy policies and advertising settings.

We do not directly control all information processed by third-party advertising SDKs.

7. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services including:

These services may process technical information necessary to provide their functionality.

Their handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

8. How We Use Information

Information processed by the App may be used to:

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell users' personal information.

Information may be processed by third-party service providers where necessary to provide App functionality, analytics, advertising, network testing, security, or related services.

These service providers may include Google, Measurement Lab, and network information service providers.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App.

Where supported, network communications use secure protocols such as HTTPS or secure WebSocket connections.

However, no internet-based service, transmission method, or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Speed test history stored locally remains on your device until:

Data handled by third-party services such as Firebase Analytics and Google AdMob may be retained according to those providers' respective data retention policies.

The App does not currently require users to create an account. Therefore, we generally do not maintain a user account containing personally identifiable profile information.

12. Children's Privacy

The App is a general network utility and is not specifically designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

We do not knowingly request names, contact information, or other directly identifying personal information from children through the App.

13. User Choices

Users may:

Disabling Usage Access will prevent the Data Usage feature from accessing the Android statistics required for that feature, but it will not prevent the core internet speed test feature from working.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when App functionality, data practices, third-party services, or applicable requirements change.

The latest version of this Privacy Policy will be made available through the Privacy Policy link associated with the App.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.
